Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygård waved gracefully to fashion fans and NYGÅRD International associates alike Friday, as he arrived at the glamorous celebration of his company's 50th year as the leader in the fashion industry.
Over 650 NYGÅRD associates and VIPs from over 9 countries packed the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg for a night of dinner, dancing and decades of dazzling designs.
The show featured six decades of vintage NYGÅRD styles from the company's extensive archives, plus a sneak peek at the fall 2018 looks. Paying homage to a long history of trendsetting apparel, NYGÅRD also honoured the people who make it happen. 75 long-term associates, who have been with the company 25 to 50 years, were honoured on stage.
Continuing their long tradition of philanthropy, NYGÅRD made breast cancer survivors the stars of the night. A total of 25 survivor models, along with 50 NYGÅRD associates, strutted the catwalk, showcasing NYGÅRD styles. The show culminated with survivor model Liisa Johnson, sister of Peter Nygård, who was met with thunderous applause as she made her way across the stage with her brother.
